These days the cancel culture and boycott trend is having a bad effect on the Bollywood industry. Aamir Khan’s ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Raksha Bandhan’ have also fallen victim to the boycott trend on social media. Recently, actor Pankaj Tripathi has reacted on cancel culture and boycott trend. Pankaj said that people have the right to give their opinion, because we live in a democratic country.
In a democratic world, everyone has the right to have their own opinion, in an interview, Pankaj Tripathi talks about the relationship between films and the betterment of society. He said, “In a democratic world, everyone has a right to have their opinion. But at the same time films are a big medium, which generates revenue for the government. This revenue is used for the betterment of the society. But, Consent or not, it is the right of every person to have his own opinion.
Both the films ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ and ‘Raksha Bandhan’ were released in theaters on August 11 on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. Both the films are being continuously boycotted on social media before release and even now. The effect of this is being seen at the box office of both films.
