. If you sit to read and know about them, then the whole day will pass. There will be many stories and stories to be heard, but we are going to tell you that thing, which you will probably be shocked to hear. Raj Kapoor sahib considered himself a ‘priest of nudity’. He has revealed this in his biography ‘Raj Kapoor One and Only Showman’. He also told that erotic thoughts started coming in his mind when he used to take bath in the bathroom with his mother. This thought became his art and this art started appearing in films. From ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ to ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’, there are many such films, in which actresses were shown wet bodies. Why so, let us know.

Raj Kapoor told about the moments of his life when he was a child. Then his family shifted to Bombay. He acted in a play at the age of just 5. He writes, ‘The environment in which I grew up was similar to theater and films. We came to Bombay in 1927. At that time there was the era of silent films. My father joined J Grant Anderson Theater where Ardeshir Irani made India’s first talkie film ‘Alam Ara’ and father was in it. I was just 5 years old when I acted in the play ‘The Toy Cart’ and got my first award for it. At that time I did not see anything other than show business.

The showman of Bollywood further explains that he was very beautiful in childhood. His father’s actresses used to sprinkle life on him. He writes, ‘I was very fair. Had blue eyes. When I used to go on stage, my father’s actresses used to cuddle me. I used to feel very excited, but I learned the art of hiding my feelings very quickly. I matured very quickly at a young age. I was a priest of nudity.

Erotic thoughts came to Raj Kapoor’s mind because of his mother. She has written, ‘I think it all started because of my intimacy with my mother, who was sharp-featured at that time being a young, beautiful and Pathan woman. We used to take a bath together and it was only after seeing them naked that erotic thoughts came to my mind. There is a wonderful phrase in Urdu – muqarnas urban meaning sacred nudity, which perfectly describes it. There are definitely bathing scenes in my films. Women captured my memories from the very beginning and they started appearing in my films. Like a ghost refuses to be buried.’

When the woman did the prankster to Raj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor wrote, ‘We once went to Western Punjab, which is now in Pakistan, that was my father’s birth place. My Great Grandfather was the Tehsildar there and the whole village had respect for our family. In the village, women used to burn gram on the fire. I remember I went to buy chana. I was just wearing a shirt, nothing under it. The lady roasting the gram gave a strange smile and said, ‘You don’t need to pay for the gram, you just put up your shirt and show it. I did and stood up. That woman laughed a lot seeing me.

Whatever happened in Raj Kapoor’s life, its effect was seen in the cinema. He wrote, ‘I was very innocent. Years later, when I thought about it, I found that the woman had something in her mind. Sometimes chana becomes a sex object in my life. It showed up in my cinema too. There is a scene in Bobby, where a boy lights up Bobby’s face with a mirror and she is sitting in the library. The girl first gets angry and then starts laughing. The boy says let’s have tea, but Bobby says no, let’s eat chana.’

The movie ‘Bobby’ was released in the year 1973. In this, his sons Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia were in the lead roles. This film is also in the discussion, because Dimple wore a bikini at that time, which created a sensation. The bold scene created a ruckus. This art of Raj Kapoor is seen not only in ‘Bobby’ but also in films like ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’ and ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’. No one can forget that scene of ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’, where Mandakini was seen wearing a white sari and bathing in the waterfall. His wet body is clearly visible. There are many such scenes in the film. Something similar was seen in ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’ too. Raj Sahab did not lag behind in showing Zeenat Aman’s wet body too.
