After investigation, it was found that he was infected with Kovid-19. He died at around 7.45 pm due to suspected colon cancer, he had Kovid-19.

Born in Amritsar, the singer is survived by his Indo-Bangladeshi wife and a son. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed grief over the demise of the famous singer and said, “In the passing away of Bhupinder Singh, we have lost an artist whose voice has made many ghazals immortal and unforgettable.
